Dr. Raines was born and raised in Southwest Georgia. He is the third of six children. With both his mother and father being administrators at his hometown hospital and nursing home, he was exposed to medicine at an early age. His older brother is a family physician as well. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, he earned his medical degree at KCUMB in Kansas City, Missouri.
He completed his residency in family medicine at what is now known as St. Vincent’s East in Trussville, Alabama. For Dr. Raines, practicing medicine has always been about family. He believes that medicine is not a one-size fits all solution. Instead he treats individuals facing a full range of medical problems with an aggressive, caring approach. Dr. Raines treats patients of all ages. Dr. Raines has been in private medical practice for more than 20 years. The past 10 years have been spent in the Gadsden area. He and his wife Janice have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. They currently reside In Gadsden.
